TYPES OF LOFTS OFFERED

Over 90% of the community offers 1 and 2 bedrooms. There are very limited Studio, 3 and 4 bedroom lofts. Pricing and availability are subject to change. Current pricing:

- Studio: $936 per month
- 1 Bedroom: $1,003 per month
- 2 Bedroom: $1,065 - $1,200 per month
- 3 Bedroom: $1,387 per month
- 4 Bedroom: $1,550 per month

Who Qualifies?

IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR A LOFT YOU MUST BE AN ARTIST AND MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS:


At least one member of the household must demonstrate a commitment to their art form in order to qualify for residency. The creation of one’s work does NOT have to be the source of income for the individual or the family in order to qualify. To qualify as an artist you must submit an on-line artist application that will be reviewed by a committee of artists. Application includes:

- Resumé, references and portfolio
- History of your creative work
- Long-term creative and career goals
- Desire to engage in a creative community

Applicants must meet the following income qualifications:
The household income is based on GROSS annual income (before any deductions) earned from all sources including; wages, social security payments, public assistance, pensions, annuities, interest income, dividends, stocks, bonds, insurance settlements, recurring gifts from family/friends, sale of artwork, self-employment, tips, etc. Third party verification will be required of all income and copies of tax returns and pay stubs may be required.

A-Mill Artist Lofts participates in an affordable housing program. Total household income must be under the following limits based on household size:

 

- 1 OCCUPANT Must Make Less Than $37,980
- 2 OCCUPANTS Must Make Less Than $43,440
- 3 OCCUPANTS Must Make Less Than $48,840
- 4 OCCUPANTS Must Make Less Than $54,240
- 5 OCCUPANTS Must Make Less Than $58,620
- 6 OCCUPANTS Must Make Less Than $62,940
- 7 OCCUPANTS Must Make Less Than $67,260
- 8 OCCUPANTS Must Make Less Than $71,640


STUDENT QUALIFICATIONS

 

A household that contains full-time students will need to meet one of the following exemptions:

 

1. Received MFIP
2. Enrolled in a job training program receiving assistance under the Job Training Participation Act (JTPA)
3. Married entitled to file a joint Federal income tax return with spouse
4. Single parent with a dependent child/children
5. Former foster child in transition to independence
6. Have a household member, who will not be a full-time student, living in the apartment
 

Some examples of artists include:

 

- Fine Artists: Painting, drawing, sculpting, book art and print making
- People Who Create Imaginative Works: Aesthetic literature, costume designers, photography, music composition and architecture
- Functional & Craft Artists: Jeweler, potter, chef, quilt maker, silk screener, carpet maker, furniture maker, and toy designer
- Performers: Singers, musicians, dancers, actors and performance artists
- Media Artists: Radio, film, television, multi-media, cyber-art, gaming and animation
- Design Artists: Graphic and web design, interior design, aesthetic design, package design and set design

 

To maintain the integrity of the community, credit, criminal and rental background checks are conducted on all applicants.
